Industrial Wheeled Robot Dog for Tasks with a Load of 25 kg
AgiBot D1 Max — an industrial robot dog with a wheeled design for logistics, cargo transportation, and specialized tasks on challenging routes. The robot is designed for a load of up to 25 kg and can reach a speed of up to 8 m/s. On a single charge without cargo, it has an autonomy of up to 5 hours with a range of up to 29 km, and with a maximum load of 25 kg, up to 3.5 hours and up to 18 km, respectively. The platform can overcome inclines up to 45° and single obstacles up to 80 cm high. The body is made to the IP67 protection standard for operation in harsh industrial conditions.
Main Advantages of AgiBot D1 Max
- Cargo transportation and connection of additional equipment. The nominal payload is up to 25 kg. Communication and power interfaces are provided for installing external devices.
- Long battery life. Without load, the operating time is at least 5 hours, and with full load — at least 3.5 hours. The range in these modes is at least 29 and 18 km, respectively.
- Combination of wheel speed and leg passability. The wheeled-leg design allows for fast movement on flat surfaces and switching to leg mode on more complex route sections. Switching between the two types of movement is provided.
- Fast movement between work zones. The maximum speed is up to 8 m/s, allowing for quick coverage of significant distances given an appropriate route and safe operating conditions.
- High passability on challenging routes. The wheeled-leg design allows overcoming inclines up to 45°, obstacles up to 80 cm high, and consecutive steps up to 25 cm. This expands movement capabilities on sections with height differences and uneven terrain.
- Reliable protection for work in harsh conditions. The body has an IP67 protection class and is designed for operation in dusty, rainy, and high humidity conditions. The working temperature range is from −20 to 55 °C.
- More continuous operation thanks to hot-swappable batteries. The power system consists of two 54 V, 10 Ah batteries each. Hot-swapping capability helps reduce pauses between work cycles.
- Sensors for route work. 96-channel LiDAR and 8 MP FPV cameras are installed at the front and rear. The sensor system also includes GNSS RTK, IMU, and two ultrasonic sensors.
Movement System and Kinematics
AgiBot D1 Max combines wheels with active joints. On flat sections, the wheels provide efficient movement over long distances, while active legs allow changing the body position and adapting to uneven surfaces. The robot can move forward, backward, and sideways, as well as turn on the spot without an additional turning radius.
Passability and Obstacle Overcoming
The robot dog is designed for routes with challenging terrain and significant height differences. The platform can overcome inclines up to 45°, consecutive steps up to 25 cm high, and single height obstacles up to 80 cm. When transporting cargo, the maximum obstacle height is up to 50 cm. Dynamic control of limb and body position ensures stable passage through industrial areas where the use of standard wheeled chassis is ineffective.
SDK and Secondary Development
AgiBot D1 Max is built on the NVIDIA Orin NX 16GB 100–157 TOPS computing platform and supports secondary development with SDK. Developers are provided with a digital model of the robot, 3D CAD files, and a URDF description. Wireless communication is provided by Wi-Fi 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.0 modules, allowing for the implementation of custom control algorithms and sensor data processing.
Cameras and Positioning System
Visual observation is provided by two industrial 8 MP FPV cameras (front and rear) with DFOV 122°, HFOV 111°, and VFOV 70° viewing angles, as well as four additional lighting sources.
For position determination and movement control, the following are used:
- LiDAR: two 96-channel sensors with 360° × 90° coverage and a range of up to 120 m.
- Navigation and orientation: GNSS RTK and automotive IMU.
- Ultrasonic sensors: 2 pcs. for obstacle control left and right at a distance of up to 5 m.
IP67 Protection for Industrial Use
The body is protected according to the IP67 standard and is designed for operation in dusty environments, rain, and high humidity. The working temperature range from −20 to +55 °C allows the platform to be used in open areas, warehouses, production sites, and external inspection routes.
Applications of AgiBot D1 Max
- Logistics and transportation. Transporting loads up to 25 kg on routes with both flat and uneven sections.
- Industrial enterprises. Working on production and warehouse sites requiring IP67 protection and connection of specialized equipment.
- Search and rescue scenarios. Using the robot in challenging environmental conditions, specific functionality depends on installed modules.
- Specialized R&D tasks. Adapting the platform for specific projects thanks to SDK, sensors, and expansion interfaces.
