The model is created for experiments, education, and building custom solutions in the field of mobile robotics. Advantages of AgiBot D1 Edu

  • Flexible control of each limb. The quadruped platform has 12 degrees of freedom with 3 DOF per leg and 12 precision joint mechanisms, allowing precise control of gait, body tilts, and special movements.
  • High torque for active maneuvers. The maximum drive force is up to 48 N·m, and dual encoder control eliminates the need for recalibrating the zero point during regular startup.
  • Fast movement during research. The maximum speed of AgiBot D1 Edu reaches 3.5 m/s, which is the peak value, not a constant operating mode.
  • Stable movement on complex surfaces. RL-based gait control algorithms help maintain balance, adapt to terrain, and compensate for external shocks, a function responsible for stabilization and not a ready-made autonomous navigation system.
  • Passability on areas with height differences. The device overcomes consecutive steps up to 16 cm high, performs jumps up to 35 cm, and can move on slopes with an incline angle of up to 40°.
  • Long operation on test routes. The range is 6 ± 1 km with autonomy from 1 to 2 hours. Battery recharge from 10% to 90% takes about 1 hour.

The AgiBot D1 Edu model is designed for scientific laboratories, higher education institutions, R&D departments, and engineers studying locomotion, mobile robotics, and behavioral algorithms. The model is convenient for practical classes, experiments with gait control, IMU data reading, and integration of third-party modules. The Edu version is a specialized modification in the D1 series. Unlike the D1 Pro version, it provides open software and hardware interfaces, making it suitable not only for demonstration tasks but also for creating and testing custom engineering solutions.

Kinematics and Overcoming Difficult Areas

The device has 12 degrees of freedom with 3 DOF per leg. Movement is controlled by 12 precision drive mechanisms with a maximum torque of up to 48 N·m. Dual encoder control eliminates the need for standard zero position setup before each startup.

Thanks to RL-based gait control algorithms, the robot adapts to terrain, self-balances, and compensates for shocks. The maximum movement speed is 3.5 m/s. The device overcomes steps up to 16 cm high, performs upward jumps up to 35 cm, and climbs slopes with an angle of up to 40°.

Interfaces and Tools for Custom Development

For connecting external equipment, AgiBot D1 Edu provides Ethernet, USB, Power Port, SBUS, and UART ports. Through these connectors, the platform can be supplemented with sensors, communication boards, and other modules for specific project tasks.

For virtual algorithm testing, URDF model, NVIDIA Isaac Sim, and MuJoCo support are provided. This allows first to work out the device's behavior in a simulator and then transfer the developed scenario to the physical platform.
