Humanoid Robot for Moving Heavy Loads and Automating Warehouse Processes

AgiBot G2 Max is a mobile robot for warehouse logistics, palletizing, depalletizing, and moving heavy loads. The two robotic manipulators have 7 degrees of freedom each and support force control during physical interaction with objects. The nominal load is 18 kg per arm and 38 kg when working with both arms, with a short-term peak load reaching 50 kg. The vertical working range of 0.1 to 2.54 m allows working with loads near the floor, pallets, containers, and upper levels of warehouse structures.

Advantages of AgiBot G2 Max

  • Load up to 18 kg per arm. Each manipulator is designed for nominal work with loads up to 18 kg, and the joint work of both arms supports loads up to 38 kg.
  • Peak load up to 50 kg. For short-term two-arm operations, a mode with a load of up to 50 kg is provided.
  • Seven-degree robotic arms. Each manipulator has 7 degrees of freedom, providing a wide range of positions and allowing the gripper to approach the load from different directions.
  • Force control. The manipulators control physical interaction with the load during gripping, moving, and positioning.
  • Vertical working range up to 2.54 m. The robot can work with items near the floor, on pallets, in containers, and on upper levels of racks.
  • 360° workspace overview. The spatial perception system monitors the surrounding space during movement and manipulations.
  • Autonomous operation up to 8 hours. G2 Max supports autonomous charging and battery replacement for organizing long work cycles.

21 Degrees of Freedom and Force Control of Manipulators

AgiBot G2 Max has 21 degrees of freedom excluding the end effector module. Each robotic arm is equipped with 7 degrees of freedom, providing flexible positioning of the manipulators when working with pallets, containers, racks, and other objects.

The arms support force control, allowing the system to control physical contact during the movement and positioning of loads. For relevant operations, positioning accuracy is declared at the sub-millimeter level. The total number of 21 degrees of freedom does not include the movements of the installed robotic hand, gripper, or other end module.

Working with Loads up to 38 kg with Two Arms

One AgiBot G2 Max manipulator is designed for a nominal load of up to 18 kg, and the joint work of both arms supports up to 38 kg. For short-term peak mode with two arms, a load of up to 50 kg is declared. The permissible mass of a specific load depends not only on its weight. When selecting a work scenario, it is necessary to consider the geometry of the item, the position of the center of mass, the gripping point, the type of end module, the trajectory of movement, and the configuration of the manipulators. For standard two-arm operations, the working reference is a value of 38 kg. The load of 50 kg belongs to the peak mode and requires verification for a specific pose, trajectory, and installed gripper.

Vertical Working Range from 0.1 to 2.54 m

AgiBot G2 Max operates in a vertical range from 0.1 to 2.54 m, allowing operations at different heights. The manipulators can work with loads near the floor, low pallets, containers, and upper levels of racks.

To expand the available working area, the design is equipped with a power tilt unit. The mechanism helps the manipulators work with multi-row containers and loads located at different heights and depths.

Mobile Chassis and 360° Space Control

AgiBot G2 Max moves at a speed of up to 1.5 m/s and controls the space around the platform at 360°. The mobile base allows movement between warehouse and production zones, racks, pallets, and workstations.

The chassis supports forward and backward movement, omnidirectional lateral movement, and rotation in place. This kinematics simplifies the positioning of the robot in narrow warehouse aisles and near equipment. The actual speed depends on the route, load mass, equipment location, and workflow settings. The value of 1.5 m/s characterizes the speed of the mobile base and does not determine the speed of the manipulators or palletizing performance. Protective edges of the chassis and a controlled contact response system help detect collisions and respond to physical interaction with surrounding objects.

Up to 8 Hours of Autonomous Operation

AgiBot G2 Max supports autonomous operation for approximately 8 hours. The actual duration depends on the load mass, frequency of manipulations, intensity of movement, and operating conditions. For long work cycles, autonomous charging and battery replacement are supported. The workflow can be organized so that the robot independently returns for charging or continues task execution after battery replacement. The 24/7 mode involves organizing continuous operation through charging planning, battery replacement, and task distribution.

Genie Studio 2.0 for Configuring Robotic Operations

AgiBot G2 Max supports working with the Genie Studio 2.0 platform for configuring and launching warehouse and production robotic processes. The software platform is used for preparing work scenarios, routes, and action sequences according to a specific operation. The setup duration depends on the type of gripper, equipment configuration, load characteristics, route, and enterprise requirements.

Palletizing and Warehouse Operations

AgiBot G2 Max is designed for automated work with loads at different heights and performing repetitive warehouse operations. Two robotic arms support a joint nominal load of up to 38 kg, and the maximum working height reaches 2.54 m.

The wheeled chassis provides movement between pallets, racks, containers, and other work zones. The power tilt unit expands the capabilities for working with multi-row containers and loads on upper levels.

Applications of AgiBot G2 Max

  • Palletizing. Placing boxes, containers, and other loads on pallets according to a specified scheme.
  • Depalletizing. Removing loads from pallets and transferring them to the next work zone.
  • Working with racks. Removing, moving, and placing loads at different levels of warehouse structures.
  • Moving between warehouse zones. Transporting items between pallets, containers, racks, and workstations.
  • Working with multi-row containers. Manipulating loads located at different heights and depths.
  • Production logistics. Supplying parts, materials, and containers between equipment, production lines, and work areas.

Recommendations Before Integration

Before implementing AgiBot G2 Max, it is necessary to determine the actual mass, geometry, and center of gravity of the loads and compare them with the parameters of 18 kg for one arm and 38 kg for two-arm work.

The peak load of 50 kg should not be used as a standard value for continuous operations. When designing the route, it is also necessary to consider the width of the aisles, the available space for maneuvering, and the need for lateral movement of the platform.

For palletizing and depalletizing, it is recommended to pre-test the system with real boxes, containers, pallets, and the chosen end gripper. When planning long shifts, it is necessary to provide a schedule for autonomous charging or battery replacement.
