AgiBot G2 for Working with Materials and Production Equipment
AgiBot G2 is a humanoid robot for automating operations with parts and production equipment. The robot has two 7-axis arms with force control and a total of 26 degrees of freedom. A mobile four-wheel platform allows movement between work positions. Cameras, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors help determine the position of objects and detect obstacles. On the production line, G2 can supply material, position it as required, and retrieve it after the operation is complete.
Advantages and Features of AgiBot G2
- Force-controlled dual arms. Force control is implemented on the joints of both manipulators, helping to work precisely with parts and control contact with equipment.
- 26 degrees of freedom. Each arm has 7 degrees of freedom. This kinematic scheme allows for sequential manipulations near machines, test stations, and other work positions.
- Omnidirectional mobile platform. The four-wheel chassis supports forward, backward, and sideways movement. The maximum speed is 1.5 m/s.
- Adaptive positioning. Cameras determine the position of the material and how it is laid out. Before installation, the system adjusts the position of the part according to the actual coordinates of the work position.
- Computational platform. G2 can be equipped with NVIDIA Jetson Thor T5000. Computational performance reaches 2,070 TFLOPS FP4.
- Battery operation. The total capacity of the battery system is 1,652 Wh. The autonomous operation time exceeds 4 hours, and charging takes about 2 hours.
Manipulators, Precision, and Mobility of AgiBot G2
Each arm of the AgiBot G2 has 7 degrees of freedom. The total allowable load for both arms is up to 10 kg. The arm span reaches 2.35 m. The maximum working height is 2.3 m. These parameters allow working with shelves, trays, loading zones, and equipment at different heights. Force control is implemented on the joints of both arms. The precision of manipulations is at a sub-millimeter level. For working with small components, G2 is compatible with AGIBOT OmniHand Series hands with 19 degrees of freedom. OmniHand is not included in the robot's basic configuration.
The mobile platform has a four-wheel omnidirectional design. G2 can move forward, backward, and sideways. The robot also maneuvers near equipment and between work positions. During loading, G2 moves from the material supply zone to the equipment. After the operation is complete, the robot moves to the material return zone or to the next position.
Machine Vision and Positioning of AgiBot G2
AgiBot G2 cameras determine the material, its position, and how it is laid out. The robot takes an individual part or container and moves to the equipment. The system determines the coordinates of the loading zone and adjusts the position before installation. This helps take into account the actual location of the material and the work position.
After the operation is complete, G2 removes the material from the equipment. Then the robot returns it to the production line, to the unloading zone, or moves to the next position. Cameras, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors are used to control the space. They help detect obstacles when moving between production zones.
Autonomy and Charging
AgiBot G2 operates on a battery system for over 4 hours. The total capacity is 1,652 Wh, and charging takes about 2 hours. Direct charging, autonomous charging, and battery replacement are available. The working temperature range is from 0 to 40 °C. The power system consists of two batteries and supports hot swapping. This allows the battery to be replaced with minimal interruption between work cycles.
Safety During Operation
For space control, AgiBot G2 uses wide-angle cameras, LiDAR, and ultrasonic sensors. The system helps detect obstacles and control collision risk during movement. Force-controlled arm operation helps more accurately control contact with parts and equipment. The robot's body has an IP42 protection rating.
Application Scenarios of AgiBot G2
- Loading production equipment. G2 determines the position of the material and takes it from the supply zone. After moving to the equipment, the robot positions the material as required.
- Unloading after operation. G2 removes the material after testing or processing. Then the robot returns it to the production line or to the unloading zone.
- Electronics testing. G2 can work with Genie Studio on loading and unloading lines for 3C electronics. In one implemented project, the work cycle duration was 18 s ± 2 s.
- Chip testing. G2 robots can supply and return trays between test stations. The scenario involves moving between equipment, autonomous navigation, and charging.
