ASA Plastic KLEMA 1.75 mm 1 kg Black is a thermoplastic filament for FDM 3D printing of functional and structural parts. The material combines resistance to ultraviolet radiation, weather conditions, and elevated temperatures with mechanical strength and impact resistance. ASA is suitable for manufacturing equipment housings, technical components, and other outdoor installation products.
Advantages of the Material
- Weather Resistance. The material reduces the risk of deterioration in appearance and performance of parts under the influence of sunlight, rain, and temperature fluctuations.
- Heat Resistance of Parts. ASA is characterized by heat resistance up to 90 °C, which is important for products used at elevated temperatures. The heat distortion temperature of the material is 101 °C under a load of 0.45 MPa.
- Strength of Functional Parts. The combination of mechanical strength and impact resistance allows for the production of housing and structural components that experience mechanical loads during operation.
Features of 3D Printing with ASA
For working with ASA, it is recommended to use a 3D printer with a closed chamber and heated platform. Protection from drafts and a stable temperature inside the chamber help reduce the risk of product deformation and cracking due to uneven cooling.
Different printing speeds have corresponding temperature modes, which are provided in the 3D printing parameter table.
To improve the adhesion of the first layer to the platform, an appropriate adhesive can be used. During 3D printing, it is recommended to enable model cooling.
The distance and speed of retraction can be adjusted considering the extruder design and model features.
The working area should be equipped with proper ventilation, as irritating fumes may be released when the material is heated.
Recommendations for Drying and Storage
The recommended drying temperature for ASA is 80 °C. To protect against moisture between printing sessions, it is recommended to keep the filament in airtight packaging with a desiccant, in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight.
