ABS Plastic KLEMA 1.75 mm 1 kg White for Durable and Heat-Resistant Parts

ABS Plastic KLEMA 1.75 mm 1 kg White is a thermoplastic filament for FDM 3D printing of functional parts, casing elements, and industrial prototypes. The material is designed for manufacturing products that require mechanical strength, impact resistance, and resistance to elevated temperatures. ABS can be mechanically processed and painted, allowing for the refinement of finished parts according to design and functional requirements.

Material Advantages

  • Resistance to mechanical loads. ABS is suitable for manufacturing casing and structural elements that undergo impacts, bending, and other mechanical influences.
  • Heat resistance. The heat deflection temperature is 95 °C at a load of 0.45 MPa, allowing this characteristic to be considered when designing parts for operation at elevated temperatures.
  • Controlled shrinkage. The indicator of 0.4–0.8% allows for considering possible size changes during cooling and accordingly adjusting the geometry of the part.
  • Possibility of finishing. Printed products can be drilled, sanded, threaded, and painted to achieve the necessary geometry and surface quality.

Design Features of ABS

When designing ABS parts, it is necessary to consider their geometry, wall thickness, and the nature of future loads. For products that require precise fitting or connection with other components, it is important to anticipate possible size changes of the material during cooling.

This is especially relevant for casing elements, fasteners, and parts with complex geometry, where dimensional deviations can affect the accuracy of assembly and functionality of the finished product.

Features of 3D Printing with ABS

For printing with ABS, it is recommended to use a 3D printer with a closed chamber and a heated build platform. A stable temperature regime helps reduce the risk of part deformation and detachment from the platform during cooling.

The nozzle temperature should be selected according to the printing speed. As speed increases, a higher temperature is needed to ensure stable melting and material feeding. Recommended temperature ranges for different speeds are provided in the 3D printing parameter table.

To improve the adhesion of the first layer, it is recommended to use an appropriate adhesive agent. Cooling of the model during printing should be turned off.

Retraction parameters and other settings can be adjusted depending on the design of the 3D printer, model geometry, and requirements for the finished part.

When working with ABS, proper ventilation of the work area must be ensured, as heating the material may be accompanied by the release of irritating fumes.

Recommendations for Drying and Storage

If necessary, it is recommended to dry the filament at a temperature of 80 °C before use.

For storage, it is recommended to use airtight packaging that protects the material from moisture and contamination. The filament should be kept away from direct sunlight.

Application Areas

  • Functional and mechanical parts. Manufacturing of housings, brackets, fasteners, holders, and other components for household and technical use.
  • Industrial prototyping. Creation of experimental samples, structural elements, and auxiliary production equipment.
  • Models and decorative products. Manufacturing of figurines, decorative elements, and other products that require further finishing.
