PLA Plastic KLEMA 1.75 mm 1 kg White is a filament for FDM 3D printing of prototypes, decorative items, figurines, and other models, with low shrinkage, a diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm, and a printing speed of up to 200 mm/s. The material ensures uniform feeding and stable extrusion, while the small shrinkage helps maintain the geometry of the products during cooling.

Material Advantages

  • Low shrinkage of 0.1–0.3% helps reduce model deformation during cooling;
  • Diameter tolerance of ±0.02 mm promotes uniform material feeding and stable extrusion;
  • Stable melt flow promotes continuous extrusion and reduces the risk of material interruptions through the nozzle;

Mechanical and Operational Properties

The density of PLA is 1.23 g/cm³. Tensile strength is 40±6 MPa, and elongation at break is 10±5%. This ratio of characteristics corresponds to a rigid material for products that need to maintain a given shape without significant elastic deformation.

Flexural strength is 65±6 MPa, and the flexural modulus is 2300±300 MPa. These indicators characterize the material's ability to resist bending deformation and maintain stiffness under load.

Izod impact strength with a notch is 5±3 kJ/m². This indicator characterizes the material's ability to absorb the energy of a short-term impact in the stress concentration zone without immediate destruction.

The heat deflection temperature (HDT) is 55±5°C under a load of 0.45 MPa, the glass transition temperature is 63°C, and the melting temperature is 164°C. These parameters should be considered for products that may be exposed to heating during operation.

The melt flow index is 6.9±3 g/10 min, and shrinkage is 0.1–0.3%.

3D Printing Modes

The nozzle temperature should be selected along with the printing speed. For a speed of 50–100 mm/s, a temperature of 200–210°C is used. When increasing the speed to 100–200 mm/s, the temperature range is 210–240°C. This allows maintaining the necessary material melting when increasing its feeding speed.

The platform temperature is 60–70°C. For this PLA, a textured PEI platform is also indicated without the need for additional surface treatment. Cooling is used during printing.

The retraction length is 0.8–1.2 mm, and the retraction speed is 30–40 mm/s. These parameters can be adjusted according to the extruder design, model geometry, and specific 3D printer.

Drying and Storage

The filament drying temperature is 50°C.

During storage, the material should be protected from direct sunlight. Under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, PLA may gradually yellow.
