Formlabs Alpha Black Resin Cartridge for Form Studio 1, 1 L — black photopolymer resin from the Alpha Resins line, specially developed for the Form Studio 1 platform. The material is designed for printing models, prototypes, and other parts where geometric accuracy and a neat appearance are important.

What tasks is Alpha Black Resin suitable for?

Form Studio 1 is focused, in particular, on creating prototypes for form and assembly verification, figurines, models, and props. For such tasks, Alpha Black Resin allows for obtaining parts with a rich black matte color and clearly reproduced fine elements.

The material ensures precise reproduction of geometry and a quality surface of finished parts.

Surface quality and detailing

For Alpha Black Resin, a rich matte color, clear reproduction of fine elements, and smooth dimensionally accurate surfaces are declared. This allows the material to be used for products where appearance, fine geometry, and correct combination of individual elements are simultaneously important.

Printing settings on Form Studio 1

For Alpha Black Resin, printing with a layer thickness of 50 and 100 microns is available.

The material is used with the standard Form Studio 1 Resin Tank, optimized for working with the entire Alpha Resins line.

Alpha Resins are specially created for Form Studio 1 and are not compatible with Form 4/4B and Form 4L/4BL.

After printing

Alpha Black Resin is compatible with Formlabs Resin Washing Solution. The basic setting of Form Studio Wash+Cure for Alpha Resins involves 5 minutes of washing and 5 minutes of curing. After printing is completed, Form Studio 1 displays the recommended washing and curing time.

When working with liquid resin, it is recommended to use protective gloves.

When using Alpha Resins on Form Studio 1 together with VOC Extractor, the system meets the UL GREENGUARD Gold certification requirements for low chemical emissions.
