3D printer Markforged Metal X

3D printer Markforged Metal X: industrial production of metal parts

Introducing Markforged Metal X 3D printer for metal parts 3D printing. The Metal X 3D printing system allows you to produce a fully functional metal part very quickly.

You can design and get a product ready for use in 28 hours! Thanks to the unique technology of 3D printing with metal thread, it is possible to achieve quality that is not inferior to injection molding. To produce a part in the traditional way, much more time is needed. Technologically, casting is much more complex and labor-intensive.

The use of 3D printing is more appropriate, especially when it comes to a small batch of products or a single copy. Thanks to the variety of modern metal materials, there are practically no restrictions: you can print anything in the range of print area sizes (300×220×180 mm).

3D printing Markforged Metal X: finished metal parts

Markforged Metal X advantages and features

  • A reliable industrial printer capable of printing large batches of products.
  • The quality of finished products meets all the requirements for both mechanical engineering and the aerospace industry.
  • Finished products are able to withstand the same loads as similar products manufactured in the traditional way.
  • From the design to the unit ready for work – 28 hours. This is a unique indicator of speed, impossible with other manufacturing technologies.
  • Atomic diffusion additive manufacturing is an advanced innovation that can completely change approaches in mechanical engineering and related areas.
  • ADAM technology allows printing closed honeycomb structures, instead of 100% filling. This saves material, reduces the weight of the product without loss of strength and wear resistance.
  • This technology cannot be repeated by traditional manufacturing methods, even such modern ones as powder 3D printing.
  • Versatility and economical material consumption make the device effective for both small and large enterprises.
  • The printer operates using the FDM printing technology familiar to many users.
  • The metal powder is bound with plastic, so it is completely free of toxic metal dust.
  • Metal X can print relatively large, high-precision parts from various materials. The layer height is 50 µm.
  • Available 3D printing materials can also be used to make prototypes and molds.
  • The simple and functional Eiger application allows you to constantly monitor the printing parameters. The cloud version is included with each printer.

Comprehensive approach

The Metal X system is a comprehensive approach to large and small production tasks. Thanks to its complete set, you can start working immediately. Buying a Metal X 3D printer as a set, with a washing station and a sintering oven is the perfect solution!

3D printer for metal parts: choose what suits you best

Metal X is extremely easy to operate and maintain, if one printer is not enough for your volumes, you can scale up production by simply purchasing several printers.

Thanks to the constantly expanding range of printing materials, Metal X can print anything! The manufacturer offers several materials to choose from, depending on the needs of your production:

  1. 17-4PH Stainless Steel – stainless steel combines strength, corrosion resistance, and hardness. The material is used to manufacture products for the aerospace, oil, and medical industries.
  2. A2 and D2 Tool Steel - air-hardened tool steel, which provides excellent impact resistance. It is suitable for printing stamps and molds.
  3. Inconel 625 – an alloy based on nickel and chromium is resistant to corrosion and has impressive heat resistance. It is used wherever the product is exposed to high temperatures or atmospheric pressure. The innovative alloy is used in medicine and jet engines.
  4. Copper - a soft, ductile metal used primarily for its electrical and thermal conductivity. The ability to print pure copper with Metal X enables geometric optimization of parts that were previously expensive, time-consuming, or impossible.
  5. H13 Tool Steel - a universal tool steel harder than 17-4PH. It retains its properties at high temperatures and is widely used for printing tool bodies, soldering devices, and where hardness, heat resistance, and wear resistance are required. Safe production can be set up even in the office.

Metal X workflow

This process saves time from design to printing heavy metal parts.

  • Design. Once you upload a CAD STL file and select a material, EIGER software does the rest, making it easy to print the part you want.
  • Printing. The printer prints your part from metal powder bonded to plastic, building up the shape of a dense metal part layer by layer. Parts are scaled to compensate for shrinkage during the sintering process.
  • Sintering. The printed parts go through a wash step to remove some of the binder. They are then sintered in an oven, turning the metal powder into solid metal.
  • Part. After sintering, you have a ready-to-use part made of pure metal with a density of up to 99.7%. You can machine and handle this component like any other metal part.
