The desktop laser complex xTool MetalFab 1200W All-in-one is a ready-made multifunctional ecosystem that combines the power of a laser welder, an automated CNC machine, a manual cutter, and a laser cleaning installation in one piece of equipment. The model is designed for small-scale productions, service centers, metalworking workshops, and R&D laboratories that require high precision and processing speed without using bulky industrial equipment. At the core of the complex is a fiber laser source with an optical power of 1200 W and a wavelength of 1080 ± 10 nm.

Key Features and Functionality

The multifunctionality of the system allows for a complete cycle of work with sheet metal, profiles, and blanks using a single device.

• 4-in-1 Concept: the complex performs four types of tasks:
  • automatic CNC cutting of sheet metal;
  • manual contour cutting of blanks with complex geometry;
  • laser welding with automatic or manual seam guidance;
  • laser cleaning of surfaces from rust, scale, oxide films, grease, and paint.
• Automated CNC Portal: the working platform has a through (pass-through) design along the Y-axis. This allows processing metal sheets of any length with positioning accuracy of ± 0.05 mm and a Z-axis stroke of 50 mm.
• Weld Seam Stability: fixing the laser head directly on the CNC portal ensures a uniform seam and constant movement speed regardless of the operator's skills during serial part joining.
• Wire Feeding: equipped with an automatic wire feeding device with a diameter from 0.8 mm to 1.2 mm for effective filling of technological gaps and joints.
• Optics Protection: active gas blowing and replaceable protective lenses prevent molten splashes from entering the internal elements.

Material Cutting and Welding Parameters

The system works with a wide range of metals and alloys: carbon and stainless steel, galvanized metal, aluminum, brass, titanium, magnesium, and nickel alloys.

In laser welding mode (operates in continuous CW and pulsed modes), the maximum welding depth in one pass is:

• Stainless and carbon steel — up to 4.0 mm;
• Galvanized steel — up to 3.5 mm;
• Aluminum alloys — up to 3.0 mm;
• Brass — up to 2.0 mm.

For removing melt during CNC cutting, gas is supplied under pressure of 1.0–1.5 MPa. The maximum material thickness for cutting:

Ecosystem, Control, and Safety

Work processes are managed through the proprietary software xTool Creative Space, which supports the import of vector layouts, the function of automatic part layout, and precise laser parameter adjustment. The equipment's touch interface allows for convenient selection of ready-made presets for the type of metal, its thickness, and wire diameter.

Class 4 Safety

The equipment generates radiation that is hazardous to the eyes and skin, so it is equipped with multi-level protection:

• Closed-Circuit Sensor: the laser is activated only when there is electrical contact with the workpiece through the ground clamp.
• Emergency Stop: E-Stop button for instant power cut-off.
• Operational Requirements: mandatory use of goggles with protection level OD 6+ for a wavelength of 1080 nm and an activated exhaust system.
