Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition — 3D Scanner with Optical Tracking
Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is a laser 3D scanning system with a Scanner and Tracker that tracks the spatial position of the scanner in real-time. In optical tracking mode, the operator can scan without sticking markers directly onto the surface of the part. The CMM Edition differs from the Standard Edition with additional accessories and a one-year Revo Measure license for measurements, quality control, and engineering inspection of scanned parts.
Advantages of Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition
- Optical tracking without markers on the part. In Track Scan mode, the operator spends less time preparing the surface. The Tracker determines the spatial position of the Scanner in real-time, so markers are not needed directly on the object.
- High accuracy tracking system. The scanner is suitable for tasks where it is necessary to control geometry deviations based on 3D data. The volumetric accuracy of the tracking system is 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m).
- High speed of 3D data collection. Trackit SR allows quick digitization of parts of various sizes. The maximum scanning speed is stated to be 2,000,000 points/s.
- Three blue laser schemes. The operator can choose the mode according to the size of the object, the required detail, or the complexity of the recesses. Fine Mode uses 30 cross lines, Far Mode — 17 parallel, Deep Hole Mode — one blue laser line.
- Wireless data transmission. Wi-Fi 6 allows connecting the Scanner and Tracker to a PC without a cable connection to the computer. The scanner's battery can be replaced, and the declared battery life is up to 2.5 hours.
- Working with objects of different sizes. The system is designed for digitizing both small components and large products. The recommended size of objects is from 0.01 to 4 m.
Optical Tracking and Markerless Scanning
In Track Scan mode, the position of the handheld Scanner is determined by the Tracker, which tracks it in real-time within the workspace. This allows scanning geometry without markers directly attached to the object's surface. This scheme is especially useful during 3D scanning of parts where it is undesirable to place stickers or spend time applying them.
At the same time, in some modes, markers remain necessary. If the Scanner operates autonomously in Marker Scan Mode, they are placed on the object for proper alignment of 3D data. The kit includes magnetic and adhesive markers, so the scanning method can be chosen according to the specific task.
Three Laser Scanning Modes
- Fine Mode — 30 cross blue laser lines. The mode is designed for detailed and fast geometry capture. It allows scanning black, reflective, and metallic surfaces without using markers in optical tracking mode.
- Far Mode — 17 parallel blue laser lines. The mode is intended for fast scanning of larger objects and has an increased working distance of 250–500 mm. Suitable for large parts and surfaces with few distinct geometric features.
- Deep Hole Mode — 1 blue laser line. One laser line allows scanning narrow areas, deep holes, and grooves where a multi-line scheme finds it difficult to obtain complete data. The working distance in this mode is 200–400 mm.
Accuracy and Speed of 3D Scanning
The volumetric accuracy of the optical tracking system is stated to be 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m), where L is given in meters. This parameter should be distinguished from the accuracy of a single frame of the Scanner, for which the manufacturer specifies 0.02 mm. The maximum data collection speed is 2,000,000 points/s.
The Tracker operates at a distance of 800–2500 mm and provides a tracking volume of 3 m³. These parameters define the working area within which the system tracks the Scanner's position. The working distance of the scanner itself depends on the laser mode: 200–400 mm for cross lines, 250–500 mm for parallel, and 200–400 mm for a single laser line.
Wireless Operation and Mobility
Trackit SR supports Wi-Fi 6 for wireless connection of the Scanner and Tracker to a PC. This reduces the number of cables between the operator and the computer and simplifies movement around the object during scanning.
The Scanner operates on a battery that can be removed and replaced with a charged one. The declared battery life is up to 2.5 hours. The manufacturer also provides an autonomous mode for the Scanner for scanning with markers, so in such a scenario, the operator can work without the Tracker.
CMM Edition and Revo Measure
The CMM Edition is built on the Standard Edition and additionally includes a Ball Plate, Battery Grip, power cable for Battery Grip, and a one-year Revo Measure license. Revo Measure is stated to support Windows 10/11.
Revo Measure allows using the results of 3D scanning to verify the dimensions, shape, and geometry of parts. Therefore, the CMM Edition is suitable for quality control, product comparison, and engineering inspection after scanning.
Where Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is Used
Revopoint Trackit SR CMM Edition is suitable for tasks where it is necessary not only to create a 3D model of an object but also to verify its dimensions and geometry. The system can be used for:
- geometry control of parts based on 3D scanning results;
- quality control of manufactured components;
- 3D measurements and engineering inspection of data in Revo Measure;
- reverse engineering of parts and assemblies;
- digitizing industrial components;
- inspection of products after manufacturing;

Tips for Working with Trackit SR
- Keep the Tracker within the working range. The distance from the Tracker to the working area should remain within 800–2500 mm.
- Use markers where required by the scanning mode. Markerless operation applies to Track Scan with optical tracking, while autonomous Scanner scanning involves using markers.
