Revopoint Trackit SR Optical 3D Scanning System

Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition is a 3D scanning system with a Scanner and Tracker that determines the spatial position of the scanner in real-time. In Tracking Mode, geometry can be scanned without attaching markers directly to the object's surface. Three blue laser modes provide separate schemes for detailed geometry, large low-detail surfaces, and deep areas, while Wi-Fi 6 allows for wireless data transmission. The system is suitable for digitizing parts, reverse engineering, automotive 3D scanning, creating 3D models, and working with objects of various scales.

Main Advantages of Trackit SR Standard Edition

  • Optical tracking without markers on parts. In Tracking Mode, the operator can move the Scanner around the object without pre-attaching markers to its surface. The Tracker determines the spatial position of the Scanner in real-time.
  • Single frame accuracy of 0.02 mm. This parameter characterizes the accuracy of a single scan frame and is provided separately from the Fused Point Distance and the volumetric accuracy of the tracking system.
  • Fast 3D data collection. The maximum scanning speed is 2,000,000 points/s, reducing the time for digitizing extensive surfaces and large parts.
  • Three blue laser modes. Fine Mode works with 30 cross lines, Far Mode with 17 parallel lines, and Deep Hole Mode with one laser line.
  • Wireless data transmission. Wi-Fi 6 allows working without a constant cable connection to a PC while the operator moves around the object.
  • Battery operation. The Scanner's battery can be removed and replaced, with a claimed battery life of up to 2.5 hours.
  • Mobility and outdoor work. The Scanner weighs 1 kg, the Tracker 1.5 kg, and the system supports scanning in external lighting up to 100,000 lux.

Optical Tracking and Scanning Without Markers

In Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition, in Track Scan mode, the position of the handheld Scanner is determined by the Tracker, which tracks its movement in the workspace in real-time. Thanks to optical tracking, the object's geometry can be scanned without markers on its surface, simplifying work with large parts, complex surfaces, and objects where it is undesirable or inconvenient to attach markers.

Markers are used in specific scenarios. If the Scanner operates independently in Marker Scan Mode, they are placed on the object's surface for correct data alignment. They can also be used during Multi-position Scan as common reference points for aligning scans after changing the Tracker's position.

The Trackit SR Standard Edition kit includes 20 magnetic and 200 adhesive markers, allowing the user to choose the optimal scanning scheme according to the object and specific task.

Three Laser Scanning Modes

  • Fine Mode — 30 cross blue laser lines. This mode is designed for detailed and fast geometry capture. It allows working with black, reflective, and metallic surfaces without markers in optical tracking mode.
  • Far Mode — 17 parallel blue laser lines. This mode is intended for fast scanning of larger objects and has an increased working distance of 250–500 mm. Suitable for large parts and surfaces with few distinct geometric features.
  • Deep Hole Mode — 1 blue laser line. A single laser line allows scanning narrow areas, deep holes, and grooves where a multi-line scheme struggles to obtain complete data. The working distance is 200–400 mm.

Accuracy and Speed of 3D Scanning

Revopoint Trackit SR Standard Edition provides a volumetric accuracy of the optical tracking system of 0.025 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m), and the accuracy of a single Scanner frame is 0.02 mm. The maximum data collection speed reaches 2,000,000 points/s, allowing for quick digitization of parts with complex geometry.

The Tracker operates at a distance of 800–2500 mm and provides a tracking volume of up to 3 m³, while the working distance of the Scanner depends on the selected laser mode and is approximately 200–500 mm.

Wireless Operation and Mobility

Trackit SR supports Wi-Fi 6, allowing the Scanner and Tracker to transmit data to a PC without a constant cable connection. This simplifies the operator's movement around large parts and makes the 3D scanning process more convenient.

The Scanner is equipped with a replaceable battery with a claimed battery life of up to 2.5 hours, and if necessary, it can operate separately from the Tracker in marker scanning mode.

How to Start Working with Trackit SR

Before scanning, you need to select the appropriate operating mode, check the mutual position of the main modules, and determine whether markers are needed. The main scanning and calibration operations are performed through Revo Track. The video shows the main stages of preparing Trackit SR for 3D scanning.

Practical Recommendations

  • Control the position of the Tracker. During Tracking Mode, the Scanner must remain in the optical tracking zone, and the Tracker's working distance should be within 800–2500 mm.
  • Prepare markers for Standalone Marker Scan Mode. In this mode, they are necessary for correct alignment of scanned data.
  • Use common reference points when repositioning the Tracker. In multi-position scanning, markers can serve as global coordinates for data alignment.
  • Monitor the Scanner's charge. The claimed battery life is up to 2.5 hours, and the Standard Edition includes two batteries and a charger.
