Autonomous Handheld 3D Scanner for Objects of Various Sizes

Revopoint MIRACO Pro is an autonomous 3D scanner that operates without a constant connection to a computer. It is designed for 3D digitization of small and large objects, reverse engineering, geometry control, and creating color models. The model is suitable for engineers, designers, repair specialists, and those working outside a stationary workplace. The system with four depth cameras allows switching between modes for details and large surfaces. The scanner features a built-in 6-inch screen, its own processor, and a battery, providing a full cycle of shooting and initial data processing directly on the device.

Main Advantages of Revopoint MIRACO Pro

  • Fully autonomous operation. Scanning, merging point clouds, and building a polygonal model are performed without a constant connection to a computer.
  • Two scanning modes. The mode for close objects is suitable for small details, while the mode for distant objects is for large objects. You can switch between them directly during operation.
  • High scanning accuracy. Single-frame precision reaches 0.02 mm, and scanning accuracy is up to 0.05 mm.
  • Color 3D scanning. The 48 MP RGB camera allows creating detailed textured 3D models.
  • Up to 2 hours of autonomous operation. The 5000 mAh battery supports fast charging and allows longer work without power connection.
  • High performance. With 32 GB of RAM, the scanner can process up to 10,000 frames in colorless mode.

Technology and Scanning Modes

MIRACO Pro uses class 1 infrared structured light with four depth cameras. Two sets of cameras operate in Near and Far modes. The Near mode captures small details at close range, while the Far mode covers larger surfaces.

Two capture modes are available:

  • Single-shot — precise positioning with minimal point cloud overlap, convenient in limited space.
  • Continuous — continuous shooting at up to 15 frames per second.

Tracking is done by geometry, markers, or global markers. The 9-axis IMU stabilizes the position during movement. For transparent, dark, or highly reflective surfaces, a spray is recommended. Color scanning is performed by a separate 48 MP RGB camera.

Accuracy, Detail, and Speed

Single-frame precision is up to 0.02 mm. Scanning accuracy reaches 0.05 mm. The distance between points after data merging can be up to 0.05 mm. The scanner's working distance ranges from 100 to 1000 mm.

The minimum scan volume is 10 × 10 × 10 mm, and the maximum is 4 × 4 × 4 m. At a distance of 100 mm, the capture area of one frame is 28 × 53 mm, and at a distance of 1000 mm, it is 975 × 775 mm. The maximum scanning speed reaches 15 frames per second.

These characteristics allow the use of Revopoint MIRACO Pro for digitizing small details as well as scanning large objects without the need to change equipment.

Autonomous Operation and Design

MIRACO Pro has a built-in 8-core 2.4 GHz processor, 32 GB DDR4, and 256 GB internal memory. The Android operating system allows scanning, merging, mesh creation, and editing directly on the device.

The 6-inch 2K AMOLED screen rotates 180°. The 5000 mAh battery provides up to 2 hours of continuous operation. Charging to 80% takes about 35 minutes from a 65 W adapter. Connectivity includes USB Type-C and Wi-Fi 6. Data can be transferred to a PC or displayed on an external monitor via an HDMI adapter.

Practical Tips for Working with Revopoint MIRACO Pro

  • For scanning small details, use the mode for close objects at a working distance of approximately 100–300 mm.
  • For large objects, switch to the scanning mode from a greater distance to cover a larger surface area faster.
  • In single-shot mode, ensure slight overlap between adjacent frames for more stable positioning and accurate data merging.
  • When working with dark or shiny surfaces, use a special matting spray for 3D scanning if necessary.
  • Monitor the positioning indication on the scanner screen to timely notice any loss of position tracking.
  • For prolonged scanning of large objects, it is advisable to use the MIRACO Pro version with 32 GB of RAM, designed for processing a larger number of frames.
  • Transfer the obtained data via Wi-Fi or USB Type-C for further processing in Revo Scan software.
