Technical Specifications and Powertrain

The stability and mobility of this rescue robot are based on deep modernization of its components. The performance of joint drives has been increased by 170%, providing a torque of 360 N.m. This allows the platform to maintain balance on slippery, uneven surfaces and under sudden dynamic loads.

  • Speed Performance: Maximum movement speed reaches 6 m/s, making it the fastest industrial quadruped in its class.
  • Payload Capacity: The robot withstands a static load of up to 120 kg. In continuous walking mode, the useful payload is over 40 kg.
  • Terrain Capability: The device overcomes vertical obstacles up to 40 cm high, moves through rubble, and performs jumps over ditches up to 1.2 m wide. The maximum climb angle is over 45°.
  • Power System: A 45 Ah (2250 Wh) battery provides more than 5 hours of autonomous operation without load. With a 20 kg load, the continuous walking time is over 4 hours.
  • Protection: The chassis is built to IP67 standard, allowing operation in highly dusty and humid conditions at temperatures from -20°C to 55°C.

Navigation Complex and LiDAR Technologies

The Unitree B2 configuration with integrated LiDAR is designed for high-precision positioning and autonomous mapping. The sensor system includes 3D LiDAR, two depth cameras, and two optical cameras. This allows the system to generate detailed 3D point clouds and build terrain maps in real-time even in poor visibility.

An Intel Core i5 or i7 based computing unit is used for data processing. The architecture supports expansion up to three NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX modules, which is critical for implementing autonomous patrolling with LiDAR in smoky rooms and AI-based object recognition. The robot (with proper integration) can assist firefighters in extinguishing fires and locating victims.

Unitree B2 robot: fields of use

Application Spheres and Scenarios

Thanks to its modular design and high autonomy, Unitree B2 effectively integrates into complex production chains:

Energy and Substation Inspection

The robot acts as the primary monitoring tool at high-voltage facilities. The use of IR scanning allows for the detection of equipment overheating at early stages. Autonomous rounds along a set route eliminate the need for constant personnel presence in dangerous areas.

Mining and Construction

Using the robot to scan hazardous zones in mines and tunnels allows for measurements without risk to specialists. B2 confidently moves across loose rocks, rubble, and flooded areas, transmitting up-to-date 3D mapping data to the operator.

Search and Rescue Operations

The platform is adapted for work in man-made disaster zones. The robot can deliver medicines or communication tools weighing up to 40 kg to places inaccessible to wheeled vehicles. Stability when climbing stairs up to 25 cm high allows for reconnaissance inside destroyed multi-story buildings.

Oil & Gas and Chemical Production

IP67 protection and resistance to aggressive environments allow B2 to be used for monitoring connection tightness and detecting leaks at processing plants. The robot can be equipped with specific sensors and gas analyzers via external interfaces.

Advantages for System Integration

Unitree B2 is designed as an open platform for secondary development. The presence of Ethernet interfaces (4 ports), USB 3.0 (4 ports), and power outputs for 5V, 12V, 24V simplifies the installation of any mounted equipment.

The innovative ability to switch between walking and wheeled modes (optional) allows for energy consumption optimization on flat surfaces, significantly increasing the travel distance. Support for fast battery replacement and solutions for autonomous contact charging ensures a continuous operation cycle of the system.

External interfaces for connecting equipment to Unitree B2

Choosing Unitree B2 is a pragmatic decision for those who value reliability and technological superiority in field conditions. With industrial-grade protection and a massive power reserve, this robot becomes a universal tool capable of replacing humans in the most dangerous work areas. The platform's relevance is confirmed by constant software updates and wide opportunities for integrating specific equipment for any professional tasks.
