The Dowell DM 8-16 Plus is an open-frame FDM 3D printer featuring a 800 × 800 × 1600 mm build volume. Designed for producing large-scale prototypes, furniture molds, sculptures, and engineering components, it comes equipped with a high-temperature extruder capable of heating up to 380 °C and printing at speeds up to 500 mm/s.

The 0.216 m³ build volume enables the production of seamless, single-piece models, eliminating the need for part splitting and post-assembly gluing.

Structure & Kinematics

The frame is constructed from heavy-duty 60 mm aluminum profiles, achieving a positioning accuracy of 0.02 mm.

• XY Axis: Utilizes precision linear guide rails capable of movement speeds up to 500 mm/s.
• Z Axis: Driven by 12 mm diameter lead screws and stepper motors for precise layer height control (ranging from 0.04 to 0.6 mm).
• Noise Level: Integrated silent stepper drivers maintain operation noise within 60 dB.

Extruder Specifications & Materials

The machine employs a single-stage heating extrusion system with a maximum flow rate of up to 400 g/h.

• Nozzle Temperature: Heating up to 380 °C enables processing of standard filaments (PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, TPU, PVA, PP) as well as engineering materials like Nylon (PA), Polycarbonate (PC), and composite materials (CF Carbon Fiber / GF Glass Fiber).
• Nozzle Diameters: Compatible with 0.4 mm, 0.6 mm, and 0.8 mm nozzles using standard 1.75 mm filament.

Heated Print Bed

The print bed consists of a 6 mm tempered glass surface combined with a silicone heating element (Silicone Heating Plate).

• Temperature Range: Standard configuration heats up to 100 °C (an optional upgrade up to 150 °C is available).
• Properties: Tempered glass provides surface flatness; finished parts release easily after the bed cools down.
