3D Printer Dowell DM 8-16 Plus with Enclosed Thermal Chamber

The FDM printer Dowell DM 8-16 Plus with a working area of 800 × 800 × 1600 mm is designed for the production of medium and large-sized prototypes, equipment, casing casting, sculptures, engineering units, and auto-tuning parts. The dimensions of the chamber allow for printing solid objects of the corresponding sizes without splitting them into separate elements and subsequent gluing.

Temperature Control and Enclosed Body

For working with engineering plastics, the equipment features an enclosed thermally insulated chamber with active heating up to 60 °C:

• Prevention of Deformations: Maintaining a constant temperature reduces the thermal shrinkage of the material and prevents model delamination during printing.
• Material Compatibility: The presence of chamber heating allows the use of polymers with a high shrinkage coefficient: ABS, PC, Nylon (PA), ASA, and their composites containing carbon fiber (CF) or fiberglass (GF).
• Work Area Isolation: The body protects the process from external air flows and temperature fluctuations in the room, retains volatile compounds inside the chamber, and reduces noise levels.

Construction and Kinematics

• Frame: Built on a 60 mm thick aluminum profile base.
• XY Axes: Use linear guides to ensure positioning accuracy at speeds up to 500 mm/s.
• Z Axis: Driven by 12 mm diameter screw rods and a stepper motor.
• Noise Level: Thanks to the drivers used, the noise power during operation does not exceed 60 dB.

Extruder and Worktable Parameters

• Performance: A single-stage heating unit provides filament feed with a volumetric flow up to 400 g/h.
• Nozzle Temperature: Heating up to 380 °C allows working with both basic materials (PLA, PETG) and technical plastics (PA, PC, ASA, CF, GF).
• Nozzle Diameters: Compatible with nozzles 0.4, 0.6, and 0.8 mm.
• Table Heating: The working surface consists of 6 mm tempered glass and a silicone heating element. The basic version provides heating up to 100 °C (optionally up to 150 °C).

Automation and Monitoring Functions

• Calibration: The automatic leveling system is performed on 100 points (with detection of 4 corners and plane scanning) to compensate for unevenness.
• Filament Feed Control: A filament sensor stops printing in case of breakage or material depletion.
• Work Resumption: In case of power failure, the printer saves coordinates and continues printing after power supply restoration.
• Control: Settings are made via a 7-inch touchscreen or Wi-Fi. A G-code viewer, Z-axis offset adjustment, emergency stop button, and external camera connector are provided.
