Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer
Designed specifically to avoid common 3D printing problems, the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon 3D printer combines elegant design with industry-leading technology to deliver unmatched accuracy, speed, and versatility. The 5 goals that the developers sought to achieve while developing the X1 series were as follows:
- Easy 3D printing of overhanging parts without the use of unnecessary supports.
- Easy removal of support structures from finished products.
- Unattended 3D printing around the clock.
- Returning the accessibility and popularity of color 3D printing.
- Create rigid parts from composite materials, such as PA-CF.
Let's see what this 3D printer can do!
Main features of the X1-Carbon
- The ability to use different colors and materials.
- High-quality printing with a Lidar resolution of 7 microns.
- Upgradeable and customizable flexibility.
- High-speed CoreXY with 20,000 mm/s² acceleration.
- Double automatic bed leveling.
- Large print volume of 256*256*256 mm - easily print larger and more complex objects.
- Advanced intelligent features that simplify printing and enhance your printing experience: AI-checked first layer, spaghetti detection and automatic bed leveling.
- Stunning 500 mm/s print speed and exceptional accuracy - fast and efficient - while other printers are in the middle of a job, the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon is already finished!
- With additional cooling, a hardened nozzle and a direct feed mechanism with carbon-reinforced gears, the printer opens up a wide range of materials including PA, PC, PET and TPU, and specializes in carbon fiber and glass fiber-reinforced polymers. This provides greater flexibility in the types of designs that can be created.
3D printing with advanced materials
Freeing itself from the low temperatures and easy printing of PLA and PETG, the X1 unlocks more demanding material using advanced parts and sophisticated temperature control.
- All-metal Hotend - 300 °C.
- Hardened steel nozzle - 50HRC.
- Bed heating up to 120 °C.
- Auxiliary 12-watt fan for cooling the printed model.
Wide range of materials for printing
- PA-CF is an ultra-hard but abrasive carbon fiber filament.
- PA - durable and self-lubricating, but highly hygroscopic polyamide.
- PC - highly heat-resistant but easily deformable polycarbonate.
- Polymers - multiple polymers for multiple applications in one project.

Evolution based on Artificial Intelligence
- A lidar that measures depth in micrometers
Bambu Micro Lidar provides micrometer precision in 3D printing. The system measures the nozzle height, calibrates the flow, and scans the first layer.
- Dual automatic bed alignment
Bambu Lab X1 uses two sets of independent sensors and an algorithm to measure the height of the nozzle relative to the bed. The lidar and analog force sensors cross-check the height - a double-check.
Monitoring system with built-in camera and door sensor
- The built-in camera records the entire printing process so you can monitor your prints remotely or review the recording to determine how to resolve any issues.
- Door sensor (in development) - A smart sensor allows the printer to pause printing when the door is opened.
- Temperature sensors inside the chamber adjust the speed of the cooler to cool it down to the desired temperature.
- Thread break detector.
- Closed-circuit fan - with tracking of its operation so you can react in time.
- RFID - material type tracking with automatic application of the best settings for your material.
- Odometer - Automatically keeps track of the amount of material used and left over.
- X1 automatically monitors the belt tension and offers a semi-automatic way to adjust this setting using the belt tensioner.
AI features
AI checks the first layer: Tired of waiting for the first layer? Bambu Lab X1 has you covered. The lidar sensor can check your first layer so you can get back to... something else.
Spaghetti detection: Our artificial intelligence keeps an eye out for spaghetti monsters, so you can sleep well knowing your printer is protected from this scourge. Spaghetti failure is detected with 86% confidence.
Super-fast 3D printing with Bambu Lab X1-Carbon
How did we get such a speed boost?
- Ultra-lightweight carbon fiber build plate.
- Ceramic heater with a power of 40 W.
- Powerful 12W cooling fan.
- Welded steel XY chassis.
- Flow rate 32 mm³/s.
- Acceleration 20 m/s².
- Speed 500 mm/s.
Use a single printer to replace multiple printers and have the same performance. Less waiting time means faster iteration. Use a default layer height of 0.1 mm without worrying about print time. Less time means a smaller carbon footprint for keeping the bed hot.
Rethinking smooth lines
The secret to smooth printing on the X1 is active XY vibration compensation and precise layer height (Z) setting, which, together with high throughput and flow control, results in incredibly smooth and precise printed lines.
Right out of the box
The X1 is assembled, configured, calibrated and tested before shipping, so you can enjoy printing right out of the box.
Print remotely from any device
You can send prints with Bambu Studio and you can control your printer from anywhere at any time with Bambu Handy, and we also support SD card and LAN printing for projects.
It's time to embrace 3MF
In the STL era, you had to manage your model files, print settings, assembly instructions, license information, and model images in different places using different software. With built-in 3MF support by default, the X1 eliminates all of these issues and you can now manage your entire project in one cloud.
With nature in mind
- Up to 80% reduction in carbon footprint.
- Up to 20% plastic savings.
- 50 dB in silent mode.
- VOC filter for volatile organic compounds with activated carbon.
