Using UltiMaker Cleaning

Using UltiMaker Cleaning Filament is the most effective way to remove clogging and keep print cores in optimal condition. UltiMaker Cleaning Filament can withstand higher temperatures than PLA and is transparent so you can visually check the cleaning performance.

This filament can be used to clean the print core of UltiMaker 3D printers using hot and cold drawing. Also ideal for servicing other printers that print with 2.85 mm and 3.0 mm filaments.

• Hot cleaning is used to remove the largest portions of carbonized material from the print core and is highly recommended when the print core is clogged.
• With the help of cold cleaning, the remaining small particles will be removed, ensuring complete cleanliness of the core of the print.

Cleaning Filament is used for both print core maintenance and cleaning procedures. We recommend regular maintenance once every three months. Turn off the print core if material does not exit the nozzle for at least 10 minutes.

On UltiMaker 3 printers, the nozzle cleaning process can be started and performed directly from the printer menu.
