PLA Glow in the Dark filament 1.0 kg
PLA Glow in the Dark is a 3D printing material from Spectrum Filaments. It is a filament created from PLA plastic by adding a concentrated phosphorescent pigment. The material accumulates energy when exposed to an external light source. Thus, the printed elements acquire the well-known phosphorescent glow in the dark. The material has all the typical characteristics of pure PLA - the added pigment has a neutral effect on the material's properties.
The addition of a phosphorescent additive to PLA provides the following properties of printed products:
- The ability to emit its own light after preliminary exposure to an external light source.
- The ability to “control” the light intensity of printed products by adjusting the wall thickness and filler density.
Tip: To achieve a stronger and longer-lasting glow effect, leave the model exposed to light for a long time. The presence of phosphorescent pigment can also cause wear and tear on the brass nozzle. Therefore, for long-term use of Spectrum PLA Glow in the Dark, it is recommended to use stainless steel nozzles.
Material characteristics
- Incredibly strong afterglow effect.
- High aesthetic surface quality.
- Printing without deformation.
- Perfect adhesion of layers.
Application
- Production of products with large ornamental and artistic effects.
- Production of items to detect emergency exits in case of power outage.
- Advertising, decor industry.
- Production of various souvenirs, paintings, gadgets and luminous figurines.

PLA Glow in the Dark plastic packaging
The 1.0 kg filament is wound on a transparent spool with information on the material type, diameter, color, and recommended print temperature. Each spool is vacuum-packed with a desiccant. All in the original Spectrum Filaments foil carton.
Spool dimensions
- Outer diameter: 200 mm.
- Width: 67 mm.
- Inner diameter: 52 mm.
- Empty spool weight: ± 250 g.
Virify the quality of 3D plastic filament
Spectrum Filaments is the only company in Poland and one of the few in the world that has a tool for checking purchased filaments. VERIFY YOUR SPOOL is the most accurate quality control system on the market, ensuring that Spectrum Filaments products meet its strict requirements.
The filament for 3D printers is produced by free extrusion, which is one of the most complex extrusion technologies due to the particularly significant influence of process parameters on product dimensions and material homogenization. During the production process, every 1 mm of Spectrum Filaments is continuously measured in 2 axes with an accuracy of ±0.8 μm, which allows for a high-quality end product. To prove this, Spectrum Filaments, as one of the few manufacturers in the world, has introduced the possibility of online presentation, individually for each coil produced:
- diameter stroke along the entire length of the coil;
- average diameter
- ovality;
- standard deviation.
