Creality Pika is a portable 3D scanner with two geometry acquisition technologies: 7 parallel blue laser lines and NIR Structured Light. The laser mode provides accuracy up to 0.03 mm and is aimed at parts, models, figurines, and objects with complex contours. Two 3D Scanning Modes of Creality Pika

Pika operates with two optical schemes. The blue laser is focused on accurately capturing fine geometry, while NIR Structured Light is aimed at larger objects, human scanning, and creating color models.

7 Parallel Blue Laser Lines

The laser mode is suitable for small details, miniatures, figurines, models, and objects with complex contours. Seven parallel blue lines collect surface geometry data with an accuracy of up to 0.03 mm. 3D resolution is 0.1–2 mm, frame rate reaches 110 FPS on PC and 40 FPS on smartphone. The working distance is 160–400 mm, and the minimum scanning volume is 10 × 10 × 10 mm.

NIR Structured Light

NIR Structured Light is suitable for larger objects, human scanning, and creating color models. The mode provides accuracy up to 0.1 mm, 3D resolution of 0.15–2 mm, and supports 24-bit color capture. The working distance is 140–1000 mm, and the minimum scanning volume is 150 × 150 × 150 mm. A removable infrared filter helps work in bright lighting.

Accuracy and Scanning Speed

Creality Pika provides accuracy up to 0.03 mm in blue laser mode and up to 0.1 mm in NIR. When working with a PC, the speed reaches 110 FPS for the laser and 30 FPS for NIR, and with a smartphone — up to 40 and 20 FPS respectively.

In laser mode, Pika supports marker-free scanning when connected to a PC via cable. The scanner can also work with black and metallic surfaces without a matting spray, and markers can be used for complex geometry or strong reflections. The blue laser works in lighting up to 110,000 lux, NIR with a filter up to 80,000 lux.
