UltiMaker PET CF filament for 3D printer
In our Center 3D Print store you can buy UltiMaker 3D printers, filaments and accessories. UltiMaker PET CF filament is a carbon fiber composite material available in our online store at a competitive price on the market.
UltiMaker PET CF is a carbon fiber reinforced version of polyethylene terephthalate (PET). It has the same reliable printability as PETG, but with increased rigidity, chemical resistance and heat resistance (up to 180 °C after annealing). In addition, the characteristics of printed parts can be further improved by annealing the printed part, which significantly improves the strength, stiffness, thermal and chemical resistance of the finished item. Therefore, it is the main composite material for 3D printing in industrial settings for functional prototypes, production aids and spare parts.
Available in multiple colors, UltiMaker PET CF is easy to use and versatile. This makes it an ideal choice for composite printing on UltiMaker S series printers for a wide range of applications.

Advantages of UltiMaker PET CF
Compared to other composites, in particular PA CF, this material is easier and more reliable to use, has better dimensional stability and excellent surface finish. It also has a relatively low moisture absorption, which not only allows you to use the coils right out of the box, but also ensures the dimensional stability of the prints after finishing the parts. In terms of mechanical and thermal properties, PET CF is similar to composite materials such as PA CF, with even higher stiffness. However, it has lower impact resistance and Z strength.
The main advantages of UltiMaker PET CF compared to other materials in the UltiMaker range are increased rigidity and heat resistance after annealing, while printing ensures high quality and reliability.
Especially in the plane where the fibers are oriented (lateral plane, YZ), the modulus of elasticity in bending reaches almost 9 GPa.

Printing with UltiMaker PET CF filament
Showing lower hygroscopicity compared to other carbon fiber materials, PET CF requires little drying. Located in the UltiMaker Material Station, it remains in good condition for reliable printing and consistently high quality. PET CF can also be used for double-extrusion printing in combination with PVA, Breakaway or another PET CF color, giving users complete design freedom and allowing the creation of complex composite parts without geometric constraints.
UltiMaker PET CF is available in black, gray and blue. This unique feature allows users to color-code carbon fiber prints to suit specific applications or aesthetic requirements.
The material is fully integrated into the UltiMaker platform thanks to coils equipped with NFC material recognition technology, special PrintCore CC modules, compatibility with auxiliary materials and print profiles.
For users who require a complete composite printing solution, PET CF is also available as part of the PET Carbon Fiber Expansion Kit. The Expansion Kit includes two PET CF coils in black and one each in blue and gray. It also includes one PrintCore CC 0.4mm and one PrintCore CC 0.6mm.
Compatibility
UltiMaker PET CF Filament is suitable for printing on UltiMaker S Series 3D printers, you will also need a CC Print Core. Can be used in combination with PVA, Breakaway or other PET CF color for double printing.
Application
Due to its exceptional mechanical properties, UltiMaker PET CF enables the production of strong and precise parts for many applications, such as production tools, fixtures and fittings, and end-use parts. Builders can also take advantage of PET CF for engineering prototyping, allowing for easy and extensive testing of technical concepts and functions. In addition, PET CF offers a reliable solution for replacing damaged or hard-to-reach production parts. Taking advantage of its excellent mechanical and thermal properties, manufacturers can quickly print replacement components, eliminating the need for an expensive simple production line. The material's excellent strength and stiffness make it ideal for high-strength applications.
One of the features of PET CF is the ability to achieve even greater strength, stiffness and heat resistance through annealing. Thanks to this, printed parts can achieve heat resistance up to 181 °C and increase strength by up to 30% and stiffness by up to 10%.
- Functional prototyping
Build functional prototypes with high performance properties including impressive strength, stiffness and heat resistance. Use engineering material for your engineering prototypes.

- Tools and equipment
UltiMaker PET CF is the ideal material for your production needs. It provides performance and versatility for a wide range of applications, such as jigs, fixtures, and end-of-arm tooling.

- Spare parts and auxiliary components
UltiMaker PET CF is an ideal solution for replacing broken or hard-to-reach parts. You no longer have to stop the production line for days or weeks waiting for a replacement. Instead, you can print a new part with PET CF, even if you need it to be strong or temperature resistant.
