Antibacterial plastic for 3D printing
On this page, we offer you Fiberlogy CPE ANTIBAC filament, an antibacterial plastic for 3D printing that provides effective protection against microbes.
It is an innovative antibacterial filament with high mechanical and temperature resistance combined with antimicrobial properties. In terms of high temperature resistance, it is superior to, for example, PET-G or PCTG filaments, which belong to the same polymer family. The material is resistant to temperatures up to 110 °C and to UV radiation, chemicals and lipids.
CPE ANTIBAC is odorless and free of BPA, BPS and styrene. This antibacterial filament contains silver nanoparticles, which gives it effective protection against microbes. Microbiological tests have shown the biocidal properties of both the threads and 3D prints. The results confirm the effectiveness in reducing the number of bacteria, including Escherichia coli (by 100%) and Staphylococcus aureus (by 92.4%). In repeated testing, the results were 100% and 97%, respectively.
CPE ANTIBAC is designed for use on both desktop and industrial FFF/FDM 3D printers. A closed print chamber is not required, but it can help to produce prints with better durability. Due to its unique properties, Fiberlogy CPE ANTIBAC should be applied to prints that are exposed to microbes, such as plastic elements in public places, laboratory equipment, and clinical accessories.
