Rigid photopolymer resin Formlabs Rigid 4000 Resin
Formlabs Rigid 4000 Resin is reinforced with glass, which provides very high rigidity and polishing. This material has a high resistance to deformation over time and is perfect for printing thin walls and parts. Supports print resolution: 100 and 50 microns.
Formlabs Rigid 4000 Resin is an engineering resin designed for rigidity and accuracy. The material is reinforced with glass to provide a very high modulus and polished finish. Fiberglass glass allows the rigid resin to be stiffer compared to other Formlabs materials.

Compatibility of Rigid 4000 with other materials
Rigid resin is comparable to other glass photopolymers. Compared to parts printed with other Formlabs materials, parts printed with rigid glass resin can withstand mechanical loads for a longer period of time. Stiffness is a measure of the resistance of a material to deformation under stress. Due to the high degree of rigidity, hard resin parts with glass are more brittle than parts printed with hard resin or strong resin.
Features of Rigid 4000 Resin
- Use only the LT rubber container when printing with hard glass resin
- Rigid 4000 Resin prints at a height of 50 and 100 microns on Formlabs Form 3
- Select the height of the layer when preparing the FORM file in PreForm
- Can print geometry that is thinner than geometry printed with standard resins
- The resin can give off a light, piney scent during printing or processing
Parts printed with Formlabs Rigid Resin are harder to remove from the assembly platform than parts printed with standard resins. To improve the removal of parts, warm the assembly platform with hot air.
