Color 3D Scanner Peel 3D Peel 2
Color 3D scanner Peel 3D Peel 2 is an improved version of the Peel 1 3D scanner. This 3D scanner has improved tracking, improved geometric capabilities and improved color capture. The Peel 2 has a higher accuracy of up to 0.1 mm compared to its predecessor. At the same time, all the advantages of Peel 1 remain in Peel 2: multifunctional software, ease of use, proven quality.
Using a white LED light source, the Peel 2 obtains surface geometry data with a volumetric accuracy of 0.500 mm/m. It has a fairly large field of capture of 380 x 380 mm and a data acquisition rate of 550,000 points per second, which makes it possible to quickly capture geometric data and save it in any of the most popular formats.
Application of Peel 3D Peel 2
Peel 2 is suitable for making 3D copies of small and large objects ranging in size from 30 cm to 3 m. Since it automatically recognizes the shape of objects and is able to position not only by marks and geometry, but also by textures, it has more opportunities for scanning objects than it predecessor. Thus, on some objects Peel 2 will be able to shoot geometry even without first applying special marks.
Since the Peel 3D Peel 2 3D scanner recognizes colors and can be positioned according to surface features and textures, it will be an excellent assistant:
- for designers,
- in reverse engineering,
- when digitizing art objects,
- scanning the human body,
- medicine and much more.
To improve the scanning results of glossy, shiny, transparent surfaces, matting talcum powder and self-adhesive labels are used. Use Peel 2 for 3D scanning of objects from 30 cm.
As with most other 3D scanners, for Peel 2 the task of scanning flat and thin-walled objects, as well as hair or fur can be a problem, but there are ways to scan them.
3D scanning workflow
- Scanning. Obtain a point cloud by moving the scanner or object and watching the scan result in real time on the computer screen.
- Mesh creation. Refine, enhance, flatten and export like a pro, with tools you simply won't find in the other solutions available.
- Export file. Many export formats are available for Peel 3D, allowing you to work with industry-leading reverse engineering or 3D modeling software.
Peel 2 Specifications
Considering such parameters as functionality, workflow, ergonomics, etc. when buying a 3D scanner, you will choose a 3D scanner to suit your needs.
When selecting, you should pay special attention to the device specification, the full version of which can be found in the "Specifications" tab. Here we will give the main parameters that you should pay attention to when choosing it:
- Light source: white LED light
- Volumetric accuracy: 0.500 mm/m
- Scanning accuracy: up to 0.1 mm
- Gripping area: 380 x 380 mm
- Working distance: 400 mm
- Scanning speed: 550,000 points/s.
Peel 3D software
What's really important to note about the Peel 2 is the software that comes with Peel 3D products.
It is easy to agree that collecting quality data about the geometry of an object is only half the battle. Creaform software provides the ability to process this data and work with it correctly. After all, Creaform is the leader in 3D industrial measurement and metrology.
Packed with powerful tools and features typically found only in premium solutions, it gives you complete control over scan completion and speeds up your work with your data. Easy removal of unnecessary objects, alignment to the original point, combining scans into one object, reflection, several algorithms for automatic filling of voids, reducing the polygonality of the model, smoothing, cropping a part of the model, etc.
Peel 3D Support
When you buy a Peel 3D 3D scanner from Center 3D Print, you get:
- Free training to work with the device.
- Technical support during operation.
