The Formlabs Fuse X1 Mixer is a purpose-built powder-conditioning unit for the Fuse X1 SLS workflow. It draws unsintered nylon from the Fuse Sift X1 sifting station, blends it with virgin material at the calibrated refresh ratio, and delivers the output to the Fuse X1 Vacuum Conveyor — which pneumatically loads the print-ready mixture into the printer without any manual intervention from the operator.

Closed-Loop Powder Conditioning: From Reclaim to Print-Ready

Every SLS print cycle produces a volume of unsintered powder. Left without active management, that recovered material undergoes gradual shifts in particle morphology and flow characteristics — making its behaviour inside the print chamber increasingly unpredictable with each reuse. The Fuse X1 Mixer closes that loop. Reclaimed powder from the Fuse Sift X1 is automatically proportioned against virgin supply at the manufacturer-defined refresh ratio, producing a consistent, print-ready blend regardless of how many cycles the recovered stock has accumulated.

The refresh ratio is configured once in the system and applied automatically to every subsequent cycle without operator input.

Sealed Transfer: Vacuum Conveyor Completes the Chain

The Fuse X1 Vacuum Conveyor connects directly to the Mixer outlet. As blending completes, the Vacuum Conveyor draws the conditioned powder under negative pressure and transfers it into the Fuse X1 hopper — sealed, dust-free, and with no operator contact. The complete sequence from post-print sifting through to a reloaded printer operates as a continuous, closed system.

One Mixer, Multiple Printers — Production-Scale Flexibility

A single Fuse X1 Mixer can supply more than one printer simultaneously. Additional Vacuum Conveyors connect to the same Mixer outlet and route blended powder in parallel to multiple Fuse X1 units or intermediate storage vessels. Production capacity scales by adding conveyor connections — not by duplicating the blending and sifting infrastructure.
